As U.S.-led military forces strike Afghanistan, investigators continue their search for those who helped plot the Sept. 11 attacks.

In the month since the Sept. 11 attacks, the Justice Department identifed at least 240 new domestic terror threats it considered serious enough to examine. As a result of those inquiries, government officials have detained or arrested several hundred people and issued more than 4,000 suppoenas.

Though the investigation now spans many nations and includes hundreds of suspects, investigators say the evidence increasingly points to one man as the mastermind of terrorist attacks: Saudi billionaire Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda network.
