Changing Faces

From March 2000 until July 2001, NPR News looked at the ways our country has changed in the last century. Each month three NPR news programs, Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Talk of the Nation examined issues like urban sprawl, the effects of technology on our lives, and how dramatic changes in demographics have affected the places we live.

Each month Talk of the Nation held town hall meetings before live audiences in different cities and towns across the nation. Correspondents from Morning Edition and All Things Considered went on the road to revisit their own pasts and talk to ordinary Americans about the forces that changed their lives and their effects.

The series has ended, but you can re-visit the stories. Check out The Changing Face of America archives for more.
